Weird Fishes / Daisy Kilbourne
The second collaboration with Daisy, one that clicked into place in so many ways. She was really wanting to keep it lo-fi, ideally tape or something similar.
I have a friend who has this large VHS camera, so that instantly came to mind. It would need to be plugged in at all times, plus it was a bit restless & jittery: but that’s why you choose these formats ain’t it?
After a few locations scouts, we found this warehouse on the day of filming. Dusty, filled with forgotten things. But beautiful light pouring through lichen covered windows in the ceiling that just turned the tape into liquid glowing gold.
Everything felt good. The band performed on the take we chose in such an earnest way. Daisy gave it proper rockstar energy. We all felt it.
