Man from California / Daisy Kilbourne
For our fourth music video together, Daisy insisted we bring it back to shooting on film - old school. Six rolls of super8 and a bunch of fun lenses on a classic Beaulieu camera.
She wanted to bring that Californian warmth and tone to the clip: dipping into the vintage car, nostalgic bowling alley and neon lit streets at night.
I think we did pretty darn well.
It was fantastic to get back out there and shoot on film, embracing the spontaneous moments as we literally took a road trip out towards the hills.
The track is a beautiful journey across a hard topic, but moments when the instrumental breaks out and we pair it with the night time scenes glowing with beautiful 500T grain really shine.
Let this one spill over you. Daisy’s harmonies are something that touch the soul, it’s mystic and ethereal.
